The Company may from time to time require you to undertake additional or other duties or transfer to other departments as necessary to meet the needs of the business on a short-term basis, without advance notice.
- Probationary period
New employees join the Company on a three-month probationary period.
During and/or at the end of your probationary period you will be notified whether your employment with APEC Kolath will continue. Absence, poor timekeeping and poor attitude are reasons not to continue your employment. If APEC Kolath is satisfied that you have reached the required standards your permanent status will be confirmed.
If you have not reached the required standards, your employment will be terminated with the required notice.
- Continuous employment
The date on which your continuous employment began is 23rd December 2019.
- Place of work
You will be required to work at Kunnapattu unless instructed otherwise.
- Pay arrangements
Your wages will be 3000 Rupees per week. During your probationary period, APEC Kolath will withhold your wages, and retain them as a deposit until you cease employment. These wages will only be paid when the Company Accountant is satisfied you have a satisfactory employment record. Your wages will be paid weekly from 23rd March 2020. If you are required to work overtime on Sundays, (8am-6pm) you will be paid an additional 500 Rupees per week.
- Other Benefits
Medical Centre: Subsided health care at the Company’s Health Clinic, is available to you and your family on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. You will be entitled to take 30 minutes paid break in order to attend the Clinic, subject to the approval of your Supervisor. (For list of charges, please enquire at the Medical Centre)
Work place nursery: Subsidised childcare at APEC Kolath Nursery is available for the children of employees. (For list of charges, please enquire at the Nursery)
- Hours of work
The normal hours are Monday – Saturday 7am-7pm, with a lunch break of 30 minutes, (12pm) and tea break of 30 minutes (4pm). There may be some occasions where you will be expected to work additional hours, without advance notice. Your Supervisor will advise you of this.
- Holiday Entitlement
You are entitled to 15 days holiday per year. A more detailed explanation of the scheme is contained in the Employee Handbook.
- Holiday Pay
Payment for holidays will be at your normal basic rate. On termination of employment if you have taken less than this entitlement this holiday entitlement will be lost. If you have taken more than this entitlement the excess holiday pay will be deducted from your final pay.
- Sickness Absence
The Company will not pay for Sick leave, unless there is a Medical Note from APEC Medical Centre. Failure to produce a note will mean instant dismissal. .
- Disciplinary Procedures and Rules
Should your conduct or performance fall below the standards required then disciplinary action might be taken. This procedure is designed to help and encourage employees to achieve and maintain the Company’s standards of conduct and performance. It should be looked upon as a corrective process ensuring fair treatment for all employees regardless of status.
- Grievance Procedure
If you have any grievance relating to your employment, you should speak to your Supervisor.
- Notice Period
The Company has the right to serve notice of termination of your employment at any time in giving One day’s Notice. You have the right to terminate your employment contract, giving One Week’s Notice period to your Supervisor. If you leave without giving and working your full notice, any additional cost in covering your duties during the notice period not worked will be deducted from any termination pay due to you.
- Amendments to Contract
Any amendments that materially alter the terms and conditions contained in your contract will be notified by being displayed on the APEC Kolath Noticeboard in the Factory, and shall take precedence over the terms in this statement. Any changes to the terms and conditions in your contract will come into effect immediately.
I have read, understood and am willing to abide by the terms and conditions laid down in the Employee Handbook and accept that they form an integral part of this Contract of employment.
